Helene joined Mentor in May 2006 and has moved from Operations Manager to Commercial Manager during the course of that year. Her background of working with a variety of companies in many industry sectors has given her the opportunity to appreciate the challenges that face all sizes of business in today's competitive environment. She enjoys working with people and finding out what motivates them. She is looking forward to meeting as many companies as possible over the coming months at Chamber events and networking venues. She is a member of Wigan Chamber Council, Secretary of Southport Lions, married with one son Jonathan who is about to launch himself in the world of work following a degree in Business Administration gained at Bath and a daughter, Sarah who is studying Chemistry at Birmingham.

Lucy gave birth to her second son William in September 2006 and following her maternity leave has now returned to work raring to go as our Marketing Manager.

Jane Greenwood - Finance & HR Manager

Jane Greenwood joined us on the 2nd April 2007 as our Finance Manager, bringing a diverse range of skills and experience to the Mentor Team.  Starting her early career with many years as a Travel Consultant, including time jetting off around the world as a 'trolley dolly' on long haul flights, Jane handed in her wings for a more settled lifestyle.

With experience in sales, procurement and finance, Jane has even 'done time' for HM Prison Service - and not as an inmate!

A fitness fanatic, Jane helps instruct Body Combat classes at the local gym which prepared her for her biggest challenge to date: twin boys, now 16 months old!

Paul Reynolds - Associate

Paul brings over 20 years of international business experience at senior level to Mentor.

He has led multi-disciplined management teams in the oil and bulk liquid chemical storage business for major US corporations.

His time with the Tate & Lyle Group was spent trading molasses in the UK and internationally, running deep-sea terminals and truck fleets.  This involved travelling to over 30 countries worldwide.

For relaxation (or getting, stressed, depending on performance!), Paul is a member of his local rugby and golf clubs on the Wirral. His wife Julia, three children and dog are other distractions!

Joanne O'Carroll - Manager, HR Services Division

After completing the Postgraduate Diploma for Personnel Management in 1995, Joanne embarked on her career in Human Resources with Cresta Holidays, a successful tour operator, and spent 8 years running the HR function for over 500 employees.  During this time, she achieved and maintained Investor in People status for the company, introduced a flexible working scheme as well as establishing a clear framework for personnel practices.

Since then, Joanne spent 2 years working as an Employment Law Advisor for Peninsula Business Services, before becoming self-employed and supporting the HR needs for small businesses in the North West.  More recently, she has just completed an interim HR Manager role, covering the HR function for Emap Radio stations in England (now known as Bauer Radio).

Joanne is looking forward to working with Mentor clients and supporting them as they manage their people.

Joanne lives in Manchester with her husband and two children, Ysabel and Oliver, and share their home with a cat and a dog.  The family enjoy spending time together and getting together with friends for food and drinks!

Michelle Guest - Regional Development Manager

Michelle has joined us as Regional Development Manager.  Her experience is varied and across a variety of industries.  Having completed a fast track management training programme with Tesco, the early part of her career was spent in various Tesco's across the North West.  Managing the delicatessen was her particular favourite and what she doesn't know about cheese is not worth knowing!  Following on from there Michelle worked for Slimming World in a field based role, developing the business and staff in her area.  The latter part of her career has been in estate agency which encompassed running one of the offices within the chain as well as the training and development across the company.

As part of her continuous career development Michelle is currently completing the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice.

In her spare time Michelle enjoys going to the gym and has taken part in several 10k races.  She has a passion for travel and has recently returned from Egypt, the next trip she is planning is to Australia.  At the weekend Michelle enjoys socialising with friends.
