Gillian Fitzmaurice
Managing Director
Formerly a director of two companies, Gillian has spent
almost 20 years growing businesses through the
development and coaching of people at all levels - from
shop floor to sales people to the boardroom.
Involved in professional training, development and coaching
for over eight years, her speciality is one-to-one coaching
with directors and business executives, facilitating the
translation of their ideas and vision into practical, results-producing action.
"More and more business people are now finding that coaching for
themselves and their teams is taking their skill development to much
higher levels. Furthermore, they are seeing for themselves that
coaching is not just an airy-fairy, touchy-feely, counselling function.
A participant at one of our recent seminars - a street wise, hard-headed,
practical managing director - gave us an example: one of his team was
a bright young man who lacked self-confidence and was, as a result,
unwilling to take risks. "He knew what he should do, and he knew how
to do it" he said, "but he always played it safe. He didn't even want to
be coached, but I did it anyway! Over a number of weeks, the result has
been a complete change in his attitude.
Without the coaching he would still be just another bright young man
with plenty of knowledge but a poor record of achievement. As it is, he
is now achieving consistently excellent results without the need for
close supervision. I didn't realise how good a coach I was until I tackled
this problem".
One of Mentor Corporate Coaching's mission objectives is to de-mystify coaching - anyone can do it!
